This Training aims to deliver capacity building to municipalities in the EU27 member states through user-friendly training for the awareness of digital building permits. The Training intends to improve the knowledge and understanding of digital building permits, and potentially improve the municipality’s BIM maturity levels.
The programme contains two training courses (Train the Trainer, and Understanding Digital Permits (Ireland)). You may be registered for one or both of these courses.

The objective of the training is to upskill public sector personnel which will allow the state to increase its capacity for retrofitting, and energy performance improvement works to public sector historic and heritage buildings, and traditional built and historic buildings. This will better equip the government in meeting its ambitious targets as set out in its National Renovation Strategy and the National Development Plan to reduce energy emissions from buildings. Energy retrofitting of traditional and historic buildings is more complex than modern buildings due to several factors, including the hygrothermal behaviour of traditional building material and the need to preserve heritage value.

In conjunction with Tipperary Energy Agency (TEA) this course will include low carbon heating options, heat pump types and applications, design considerations for heat pumps, installation and commissioning watch outs, and finish with lessons from SuperHomes 2.0 Research project (TUS), and cold weather performance of heat pumps.

This course, Climate Action Leadership & Decarbonisation Training, is made up of 4 focused training sessions: Session 1 – Leadership & Decarbonisation; Session 2 – Understanding Decarbonisation, a programme for public sector leaders; Session 3 – Financing Decarbonisation for public sector facilities, with an overview on effective funding solutions; and Session 4 – Communication & Action Planning

This course addresses challenges like poor air quality and high heating costs associated with traditional shallow retrofits, offering a comprehensive support system for homeowners.

The aim of the programme is to offer new skills to industry professionals and graduates in creative media and construction sectors who are looking to further their capabilities in software and design techniques in the realm of virtual reality and 3D visualisation.
